Central Florida

According to the census, the population in 1990 was 164,693.

Orlando was colonized in 1843. The origin of the name is attributed to Orlando Reeves, a soldier who was killed during the Second Seminole War (1835-1842)

The heart of Orange County, Orlando is located in a citrus-fruit-growing area near Winter Park. The region has many lakes.

Orlando is a world famous tourist center - the main attractions include several large amusement and theme parks such as Walt Disney World, Epcot Center, Universal Studios, and Sea World among others.
